Weekend Guide: Redcliffe Peninsula with Kids

By Alyssa Stutenroth

A weekend guide to the Redcliffe Peninsula's best family spots, foreshore to jetty.

Weekend Guide: Redcliffe Peninsula with Kids

Redcliffe punches well above its size for families, a proper peninsula's worth of foreshore, playgrounds and calm water in a tight, walkable stretch.

Saturday morning

Start at the Redcliffe Jetty, flat, shaded in parts, and long enough for a proper pram walk without doubling back. The playground right by Suttons Beach is a reliable favourite, sand and grass both within reach.

The afternoon slow-down

Woody Point's foreshore path is quieter than central Redcliffe and has enough cafés nearby for a coffee stop while the kids run. The Settlement Cove Lagoon is patrolled, shallow, and about as close to a guaranteed good afternoon as beach swimming gets with young kids.

Sunday, low-key

The Redcliffe Show Grounds markets run regularly and are an easy, unhurried Sunday morning with kids in tow, no pressure to see everything, just wander.

Where PPP fits in

Redcliffe has a strong, tight-knit family community, and PPP's local Angels are woven into it. If you're newer to the peninsula, that local web of playgrounds, market days and quiet corners is exactly what an Angel can hand you on day one.
