Family Days Out on the Sunshine Coast

By Caitlyn Hudson

The best family-friendly spots across the Sunshine Coast, from Mooloolaba to Noosa.

Family Days Out on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast is built for family days out, the harder part is choosing which one.

Beaches that work for kids

Mooloolaba's patrolled, calm stretch is the easiest option with young children. Kings Beach at Caloundra has a rock pool that's practically a natural toddler pool at low tide.

Rain-friendly options

SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast is worth the entry price on a genuinely wet day, and the Big Kart Track's indoor options keep older kids moving when the weather doesn't cooperate.

Slower, local favourites

Noosa's Botanic Gardens at Lake Macdonald is quiet, shaded, and rarely crowded, a good pick for a toddler who needs to wander rather than perform. The Maleny Botanic Gardens up in the hinterland offer a cooler day out when the coast gets sticky.

Where PPP fits in

Whether you're a local or holidaying, Sunshine Coast Angels know these spots inside out, including which beach car park fills up by 9am and which doesn't. If you need a hand for the day or the season, that local knowledge comes with every booking.

The Coast has enough for a hundred different family days out. Start with what suits your kids' pace, not the tourist map.
